Renewing the relationship between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean: Towards a joint agenda for multilateral and interregional change?

The international conference titled Renewing the relationship between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean: Towards a joint agenda for multilateral and interregional change?, will be held on December 6th 2023 in Brussels, at the Permanent Representation of Spain to the European Union. This Policy-Research Dialogue brings together practitioners and scholars of EU-LAC relations to debate key advances and challenges. Two thematic panels will provide a platform for a comprehensive discussion, exchange of insights, sharing of perspectives, and offering recommendations. The first panel contextualises the interregional relationship in a changing global order, and the second panel zooms in on bi-regional policy cooperation. The event is co-organised by Dr. Bruno Luciano, CIVIS3i-MSCA fellow at the Université libre de Bruxelles.

Transnational Scholars: Research Mobility and Knowledge Production in Religious Studies

The international workshop titled Transnational Scholars: Research Mobility and Knowledge Production in Religious Studies will be held on December 8th 2023 in Brussels, at the Université libre de Bruxelles, Centre for the Interdisciplinary Study of Religions and Secularism (CIERL). Scholars from diverse backgrounds will gather to discus the challenges of mobility and the production of knowledge among transnational scholars doing multi-site research on religious phenomena. The event was co-organised by Dr. Yael Dansac, CIVIS3i-MSCA fellow at Université libre de Bruxelles.

Michelino da Besozzo e il Gotico internazionale tra Lombardia e Europa nel primo Quattrocento 

18 December 2023, at Sapienza University, Rome, by Dr. Anna Delle Foglie (ULB)

The study day dedicated to Michelino da Besozzo e il Gotico internazionale tra Lombardia e Europa nel primo Quattrocento will be held on December 18th 2023 in Rome at Sapienza University, Facoltà di Lettere, Dipartimento di Lettere e Culture Moderne. The aim is to present the scientific results of the research project titled Michelino da Besozzo and the International Gothic style by Dr. Anna Delle Foglie, CIVIS3i-MSCA fellow at Université libre de Bruxelles. 

The event brings new insights on the work of the Lombard artist and illuminator, a leading figure of the International Gothic period in Italy. Technical analyses carried out on his panel paintings will also be presented for the first time. The day will be an opportunity to discuss the painting and illumination of the early 15th century in the Low Countries as an example of international relationships in 1400s Europe. The event will conclude with a discussion about the scholar Paul Durrieu and the rediscovery of the French Primitives. 

International experts from KIK-IRPA, Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage, Brussels, the Catholic University of Milan and the University of Lausanne will participate in the event. The event is open to students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers.
